GOBI - Global Ocean Biodiversity Initiative
The Global Ocean Biodiversity Initiative (GOBI) represents a collaborative international partnership as an example of international cooperation and coordination through which biodiversity in the deep seas and open oceans can be conserved. The initiative aims to help countries, as well as regional and global organizations, to use existing and develop new methodologies and data to identify ecologically or biologically significant marine areas (EBSA) in need of protection in areas beyond national jurisdiction.
