In a recent Arctic Sea Ice YouTube video, it is important to note that what appears as blue water is actually thin ice.
I was pleased to hear His Royal Higness Prins Albert II of Monaco draw attention to the Arctic and Antarctic region during his presentation this morning. Not least referring to the Monaco Decleration of last year which includes references to Arctic monitoring and assessment. Martin Sommerkorn of WWF echoed the global implications of Arctic warming and called for an ambitious Copenhagen agrement that reduces the melting of the sea ice in the Arctic Ocean.
